Very good condition WWII German 98k Mauser Rifle in 8mm Mauser (7.92 x 57) caliber that ahs the “dot” code on the receiver for manufacture by the BRNO factory in occupied Czechoslovakia and dated 1944. This interesting rifle was refurbished in East Germany after the war and has East German proof marks on the receiver and barrel. Barrel also has the East German “1001” factory code. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers except the stock, rear sight, and rear band. Underside of buttstock has a faint nonmatching numbers and is unnumbered in the channel. Handguard is also unnumbered. Metal finish is arsenal reblue, in excellent condition. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has been arsenal refinished and shows a few normal handling marks. Top of wrist has a small hairline behind the receiver. Complete with correct original cleaning rod and front sight hood. A hard to find East German marked 98k Mauser rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection.
