Very good condition original WWII US GI V-44 bowie knife that is maker marked “WESTERN” on the left side of the blade. This is the arrested of the four makers of the V-44. 9 3/8” blade has nice original bright finish and has been sharpened. Guard has original bright finish with some brown patina. Black plastic grips have a good tight fit and no damage. Fitted in correct original leather sheath that is marked on the front with “FCC” initials. Leather is soft and supple with some normal wear, stitching and rivets are tight. Complete with handle straps that have working snap. A nice Western V-44 knife that will make a fine addition to a collection.
