Very good condition antique German Model 1871 Mauser Rifle in 11 x 60mm (11m Mauser) caliber that has Erfurt Arsenal markings on the barrel and dated 1878 on the receiver. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers. Currently, a nonmatching numbered, functional firing pin is installed, but the matching numbered firing pin with a broken tip is included. Rifle was depot/arsenal reworked during WWI, with the brass triggerguard replaced with a brass one. Receiver, bolt, and buttplate are original “in the white”. Bolt has some pitting. Remaining metal finish is original blue mostly worn to the white. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some handling marks. Right side buttstock and underside of buttstock have Imperial German proof mark cartouches. Complete with correct original cleaning rod. A nice German M71 Mauser Rifle with matching numbers.
