Good condition original WWI Imperial German Hirschfanger (hunting short sword). 18 7/8” blade has original bright finish with some gray and brown patina and a few spots of pitting. Nice original etched panels on both sides, including the Kaiser Wilhelm cypher on the left side, and the Prussian eagle and “MIT GOTT FUR KAISER U. REICH” on the right side. Brass hilt fittings have attractive patina. Stag antler grip has no damage. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard that has brass throat and tip. Leather shows some normal wear, stitching and staples are tight. Tip has some dents. A nice WWI German Hirschfanger for your collection.
