Very good condition WWII German 98k Mauser Rifle that is marked on the receiver ring with code “243” for manufacture by Mauser Borsigwalde and dated 1939. This interesting rifle was reissued to Norway after the war and is marked “HAER” on the left side of the receiver for the Norwegian army, with a secondary serial numbers. Rifle was converted to .30-06 as part of the reissue. Rifle is import marked on the barrel and has all matching German serial numbers except the rear sight, stock, and handguard. Note that there are no Norwegian serialized parts other than the receiver, and the bolt parts have been renumbered. Metal finish is nice Norwegian arsenal reblue showing a little normal wear. Bore is good, mostly bright, with good rifling and a little pitting. Stock has been Norwegian arsenal refinished and shows some normal handling marks. Right side buttstock has “eagle H” and Waffenamt cartouches. Complete with correct original cleaning rod and front sight hood. A nice Norwegian reissued 98k Mauser Rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection.
