Very good condition original Peruvian Model 1909 Mauser bayonet that is complete with matching numbered scabbard. Bayonet is identical in design to the WWI German SG 98 and has a sharp clear Peruvian crest on top of the pommel. Maker marked “SIMSON & CO. SUHL” on the right ricasso. Blade has nice original bright finish and was never sharpened. Hilt has original bright finish with some brown and gray patina on the pommel. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fit with some normal handling marks, lock button functions fine. Matching numbered leather scabbard has steel throat and tip. Leather shows some wear and flaking, stitching and staples are tight. A nice Peruvian M1909 Mauser bayonet with matching numbers.
