Good condition original antique American double barrel percussion shotgun. Both locks are marked “BROWNSON SLOCUM & HOPKINS”. Barrel rib is marked “LONDON FINE TWIST”. This maker was located in New Orleans, Louisiana, and this gun may have seen Confederate use during the Civil War. Right side nipple is missing. Right side trigger return spring does not work properly. Otherwise functions fine. Metal finish is original brown showing some normal wear. 30 ¾” barrels have good bores with some pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Both sides of wrist have a crack behind the lock. Wrist and forend have nice original checkering. Complete with wooden ramrod. A scarce and desirable Louisiana made double barrel that will make a nice addition to a collection.
