
Very good condition original WWII Japanese army late war officer Shin Gunto sword. 26 ¼” blade has nice original bright finish. Edge has a few dings near the tip. Tang has signed kanji characters on both sides. Dated Showa 20 (1945) on the left side. Tsuba has a single seppa on both sides. Scabbard latch is broken. Wooden tsuka has nice white rayskin covering and is held to the tang with a single bamboo mekugi. Brown cloth tape wrap has been glued near the Kashira. Features a single menuki on both sides, depicting three cherry blossoms. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has nice original paint and a few dents. Has a rubberized canvas strap attached to the hanger ring. A good example for your collection.
