Very good condition WWII US military M1 Garand semi auto rifle in .30-06 caliber that was manufactured by Springfield Armory, as marked on the receiver. Receiver is serial number 2290xxx, which dates it to manufacture in November 1943. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all correct Springfield parts. Barrel is dated “9-43” for September 1943. Type 3 lock bar rear sight. Uncut op rod. Single slot solid cylinder lock screw. Metal finish is nice original gray parkerized showing a little normal wear. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Left side of stock has a small hairline below the receiver and a small putty repair in front of that. Left side of stock has an “S.A. G.A.W.” inspector cartouche below the rear of the receiver, along with an “ordnance wheel”. Underside of wrist has “circle P” and tiny ordnance wheel cartouches. A nice mid-war M1 Garand for your collection!
