Very good condition original US Model 1873 Trapdoor Springfield socket bayonet that has a nice “US” marking on the blade flat. Bayonet has nice original blue finish showing very little wear. Complete with working lock ring. Fitted in correct original scabbard. Steel body has original blue finish showing some wear and no dents, no dents. Leather throat tab and belt loop are supple with some normal wear. Stitching is tight. Belt loop is marked “WATERVLIET ARSENAL”. Has a brass “USN” roundel for US Navy issue. A nice Trapdoor Springfield bayonet with an uncommon US Navy scabbard.
