Very good condition original WWI Imperial German KS 98 Mauser sawback bayonet that has Erfurt Arsenal markings on the right ricasso and dated 1914 on the spine. Unit marked “Fl.E.6.689.” on the left side of the guard for an Airman Replacement Detachment. Blade has nice original bright finish. Saw teeth are sharp. Hilt has original bright finish with some gray and brown patina. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fit, lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that original blue finish showing some wear, no dents. A nice, rare WWI German KS 98 Mauser sawback bayonet.
