Fine condition original WWI US Model 1905 bayonet, as issued with the Model 1903 Springfield Rifle. Bayonet is maker marked “R.I.A.” on the left ricasso for Rock Island Arsenal and dated 1918 with a flaming bomb. Right ricasso is marked “US” with a serial number. 16” blade has nice original parkerized finish and has been lightly sharpened. Hilt has original parkerized finish showing a little normal wear. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fit, lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original scabbard. Canvas covering shows light wear and staining. Leather tip is soft and supple and has tight stitching. A nice WWI US Model 1905 bayonet that will make a fine addition to a collection.
