Good condition antique Afghanistan Jezail flintlock rifled musket in about .62 caliber. Built using an 1809-dated East India Company lock that has the rampant lion marking. Mechanically works OK. Metal is “in the white” with some gray and brown patina. 43” octagonal barrel has a dark pitted bore with good rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some wear and handling marks. Left side of forend has a few chips. Stock has a repair to the left side of the breech tang. Buttstock has some ornate carving and a horn buttplate. Complete with correct original ramrod. Comes with affidavit paper allowing a contractor to bring it back from Afghanistan. A nice original Afghan Jezail that will make a fine addition to a collection.
