Very good condition original WWII Japanese army officer Shin Gunto sword. 26 ¼” blade has nice original bright finish with a few small, minor stains. Nice clear hamon (temper line). Tang is signed on both sides, made by Kane Nori Showaju Hachi Neiv Sangatsu in March 1943. Wooden tsuka has original white rayskin covering which has a few small cracks and chips. Brown cloth tape wrap shows some normal wear and staining. Has a single menuki on both sides depicting three cherry blossoms. Tsuka is held to the tang with a single bamboo mekugi. Tsuba has two seppa on both sides. Lock button is present and works fine. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has original paint showing some normal wear, no dents. The drag and one band is missing. A nice WWII Japanese army Shin Gunto with a beautiful blade and signed tang.
