Very good condition original WWI Austrian Model 1853 Pioneer Faschinenmesser sword. Marked “154” on the right side of the guard and “438” on the left side of the guard. 18” blade has nuce original bright finish. Hilt has original bright finish with a little gray and brown patina. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fit with some normal handling marks. Fitted in crrect original leather covered scabbard that has steel throat and tip. Scabbard shows some normal wear, stitching is tight. A nice, rare Austrian pioneer sword.
