Very good condition antique Marlin Model 1881 lever action rifle in .32-40 caliber that is serial number 14xxx, which dates it to manufacture in 1886. Mechanically functions fine. Only 1,785 Model 1881 rifles were produced in this caliber. Metal finish is original blue showing some normal wear. 24” octagonal barrel has original sights. Bore is good with strong rifling, a little dark, with a little pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. A hard to find Marlin Model 1881 rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection!
