Good condition WWI German GEW 98 Mauser Rifle in 8mm Mauser (7.92 x 57) caliber that was manufactured by DWM Berlin in 1916, as marked on the receiver. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers. Metal has mostly plum brown patina with some pitting. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Right side buttstock has sharp clear Imperial German proof mark cartouches. Underside of wrist and underside of buttstock also have Imperial German proof mark cartouches, and underside of buttstock also has a sharp clear matching serial number. Rear sight slider button springs are missing. Complete with correct original nonmatching numbered cleaning rod. A nice WWI German GEW 98 Mauser Rifle for your collection.
