Very good condition WWI Russian contract Model 1891 Mosin Nagant Rifle in 7.62 x 54r caliber that was manufactured under contract by New England Westinghouse in the USA for a 1915 contract and is so marked on the barrel. This particular gun could not be delivered due to the Bolshevik Revolution and stayed in the USA. Some of these were sold to the US government and are US military marked. This one is not. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers including barrel and buttplate. Bolt and floorplate are unnumbered. Bolt appears to be a non-Westinghouse replacement. Rifle otherwise has all New England Westinghouse parts. Metal finish is original blue with some loss on the magazine/triggerguard. Bore is gray with strong rifling and some pitting. American Walnut stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Both sides of buttstock have New England Westinghouse contract cartouches. Complete with correct original cleaning rod.
