Good condition original antique Austrian Model 1849 Augustin Jager Carbine musket. Bore has been reamed to .79 caliber smoothbore. The date on the lock is hard to read, looks like 1853 or 1857. Mechanically functions fine. Metal has nice looking brown patina, with some pitting on the breech. Smooth bore is dark with some pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Brass triggerguard and buttplate have attractive patina. Front band is a simple brass replacement. Underside of stock has a small crack in front of the triggerguard. Complete with correct original ramrod. A good representative example for your collection.
