Very good condition WWII German 98k Mauser Rifle in 8mm Mauser (7.92 x 57) caliber that is marked “ax 41” on the receiver for manufacture by ERMA in 1941. Rifle was captured by the Russians and is marked “X” on the left side of the receiver ring, and was subsequently Russian arsenal refurbished. Rifle is import marked on the barrel and has all matching Russian applied serial numbers including receiver, barrel, rear sight, bolt parts, stock, triggerguard, and floorplate. Metal finish is nice Russian arsenal reblue. Bore is good, a little gray, with strong rifling and a little pitting. Stock was Russian arsenal refinished and shows some normal handling marks. Left side buttstock has a Russian-applied matching serial number. Complete with correct original cleaning rod, front sight hood, and leather sling.
