Good condition original antique US Model 1842 percussion pistol in .54 caliber. Manufactured by Henry Aston of Middletown, Connecticut in 1851, as marked on the lock. Metal has brown and gray patina with some scattered dings and pitting. Bore is good with some pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal wear and handling marks. Left side of stock has a few chips by the breech. Left side of stock has faint inspector cartouches. Complete with original captive ramrod. A good example of a US Mode 1842 percussion pistol.
