Very good condition Remington Model 870 Riot Gun pump action 12 gauge shotgun. Mechanically excellent. This interesting gun features a bayonet lug for the M7 bayonet, and is marked “R.P.D.” in the right side buttstock, probably for the Rochester Police Department, with inventory number “2026”. Underside of receiver is marked “70-12” in front of the loading gate. Underside of wrist is marked the same. Barrel has “CZZ” date code for April 1953. Metal finish is excellent original gray parkerized. 21” barrel has a bright excellent bore. Stock has nice original finish and shows a few normal handling marks. Both sides of wrist have a hairline crack. A nice Remington Model 870 riot gun that will make a fine addition to a collection.
