Good condition antique Italian Model 1870 Vetterli Truppe Speciali (Special Troops) Carbine in 10.4 x 47r caliber. Manufactured by Glisenti Brescia, as marked on the barrel. Still in original single shot configuration. Rifle is serialized on the bayonet lug, and has later collector-added matching serial numbers on the barrel band, nosecap, bolt, and buttplate Receiver and bolt are original “in the white”. Remaining metal has mostly brown patina. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has been refinished and has even color with some normal handling marks. Complete with a replaced cleaning rod. A hard to find Vetterli variation in any condition.
