Very good condition Mexican contract Japanese Type 38 Arisaka Rifle in 7mm Mauser (7 x 57) caliber that has a nice 1913-dated Mexican eagle crest on the receiver ring. Rifle is NOT import marked and has matching serial numbers on the receiver, rear sight, stock, and floorplate. Bolt does not match but is correct Mexican contract and has same letter prefix. Metal finish is original blue showing some normal wear. Bore is dark with good rifling and some pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Right side of stock has a crack above the triggerguard. Underside of buttstock has a kanji character inspector proof mark. Underside of wrist has two tiny kanji characters. Left side of stock has a matching serial number below the receiver. Complete with an original Type 38 cleaning rod that is unnumbered. A nice, rare Mexican contract Type 38 Arisaka Rifle, one of only 30,000 produced.
