Excellent condition WWI-WWII US Model 1903 Springfield Rifle in .30-06 caliber. Receiver is marked “SPRINGFIELD ARMORY” and is serial number 1008xxx, which dates it to manufacture in 1918. Rifle was reworked for WWII reissue and has a May 1944 dated High Standard manufactured barrel. Bolt is marked “R” for Remington. Metal finish is arsenal refinished parkerized, in excellent condition. Bore is bright and excellent with strong four-groove rifling. WWII field replacement scant wrist stock has nice original finish and crisp edges with a few normal handling marks. Left side of heel has a small chip. Left side of stock is marked “RA-P” twice below the receiver for Raritan Arsenal rework. Complete with correct original “R” marked, Remington manufactured front sight hood. A nice Model 1903 Springfield Rifle!
