BRITISH ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY LEE ENFIELD CARBINE

BRITISH ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY LEE ENFIELD CARBINE-DATED 1903-NICE

Very good condition British Royal Irish Constabulary Lee Enfield Carbine in .303 British caliber. Originally manufactured as a Mark I* Lee Enfield Cavalry Carbine by Enfield in 1903, as marked on the left side of the receiver socket. Carbine is one of 11,200 converted to RIC pattern to allow the use of the Pattern 1888 bayonet. Right side buttstock has original brass unit marking disc that is marked “R.I.C.” and dated September 1904. Carbine is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers except the bolt, including receiver, barrel, and rear sight. Metal finish is nice original blue showing a little normal wear. Bore is very good with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Right side buttstock has a nice “ENFIELD” roundel cartouche. A nice original Royal Irish Constabulary Lee Enfield Carbine that will make a fine addition to a collection.
