Very good condition original WWI German 98/05 Mauser butcher bayonet that is maker marked “C.G. HAENEL SUHL” on the left ricasso and dated 1910 on the spine. Bayonet is an early war pattern with high muzzle ears and made without a flash guard. Blade has original bright finish with some scattered graying and was period sharpened. Hilt has original bright finish with some gray and brown patina. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fit, lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard that has steel throat and tip. Leather shows some normal wear, stitching and staples are tight. A nice early 9805 Mauser butcher bayonet.
