Very good condition WWI Imperial Russian military issue Winchester Model 1895 lever action “musket” rifle in 7.62 x 54r caliber that is serial number 257xxx, which dates it to manufacture in 1916. Mechanically functions fine. Left side of receiver and receiver tang have Winchester manufacturer markings. Receiver ring has caliber marking. Right side of receiver has Russian “XN3” acceptance marking. Rifle appears to show Spanish Civil War use and was refinished, probably Spanish arsenal done. Metal finish is reblue showing some normal wear. Bore is very good and bright with strong rifling. Stock was sanded and refinished and shows some normal handling marks. Handguard has a repaired crack behind the rear sight. Wrist has an added recoil lug. A hard to find WWI Russian Model 1895 Winchester musket that will make a fine addition to a collection.
