Very good condition WWII Japanese Type 38 Arisaka Rifle in 6.5 x 50mm caliber that has a full untouched mum on the receiver and was manufactured by Tokyo Arsenal without a series marking. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching assembly numbers except the stock and handguard, which are “265” instead of the correct “269”, possibly a miss-stamp at the arsenal. Rifle shows rare and desirable Japanese Navy use with a Kure Naval Depot anchor marking on the underside of the stock wrist. Metal finish is original blue showing some normal wear. Bore is dark with average rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Underside of buttstock has two small sharp clear kanji character inspector proof marks. Right side buttstock has an oval cartouche with Japanese kanji characters. Complete with correct original cleaning rod and leather sling that has white painted kanji characters, typical of Japanese Naval use. Sling has a few tears. A hard to find Japanese Navy marked T-38 that will make a fine addition to a collection.
