Cold War Classic: 1971 Colt SP1 AR-15—An Early American Icon

The Colt SP1 entered the civilian market in 1964 and remained in production for nearly two decades, making early examples prized pieces of American collecting history.

Very good condition Colt SP1 AR-15 semi auto rifle in .223 caliber that is serial number 16xxx, which dates it to production in 1971. This Curio & Relic eligible example mechanically functions fine and comes with one original factory 20-round magazine. Metal finish is nice original gray parkerized. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Black plastic stock has no damage. A scarce and desirable C&R eligible Colt SP1 AR-15 that will make an excellent addition to a collection! 

Manufactured in 1971, the Colt SP1 was the original civilian semiautomatic version of the AR-15. Recognized by its lightweight profile, triangular handguards, fixed carry handle, and classic “slab-side” receiver, the SP1 represents an important chapter in Colt and Cold War–era history. Dated 1936: Scarce German M36 Greatcoat with Waffen-SS Insignia

Very good condition original WWII German M36 Greatcoat. Shows some normal wear and staining. Complete with all original buttons. Inside has inkstamped RBNr. manufacturer code number, 1936 date, and “21 Pz. Abw. 24” unit marking for an anti-tank unit. Coat has original Waffen SS enlisted infantry shoulder boards and Waffen SS sleeve eagle on the left sleeve. A nice M36 greatcoat for your collection!

Introduced in 1936, the M36 greatcoat was issued to German forces for protection during harsh winter conditions. All-Matching WWII Mauser: The 1944 “byf” Kar98k

Fine condition WWII German 98k Mauser Rifle in 8mm Mauser caliber that is marked “byf 44” on the receiver ring for manufacture by Oberndorf in 1944. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers. Metal finish is nice original blue showing a little normal wear. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Forend has a repaired duffle cut under the rear band. Right side buttstock, underside of buttstock, and underside of wrist have Waffenamt “WaA135” cartouches. Complete with correct original cleaning rod and front sight hood. A very nice WWII German 98k Mauser Rifle with matching numbers! 

The Karabiner 98k was Germany’s standard bolt-action service rifle during WWII. The factory code “byf” identifies Mauser’s Oberndorf plant, while “44” indicates 1944 production. This fine-condition example is described as having matching numbered components—an increasingly scarce and highly desirable feature among military-history collectors.

WWII American Icon: Inland M1 Carbine with Crisp Cartouches

Excellent condition WWII US military M1 Carbine that was manufactured by Inland, as marked on the receiver. Gun is NOT import marked and has all Inland parts. Late adjustable rear sight. Serial number 6288xxx, which dates it to manufacture in the 4th block of Inland production. Metal finish is excellent original gray parkerized. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and crisp edges with just a few minor handling marks. Left side buttstock has a tiny wood putty repair. Left side of oiler cutout is marked “IO”. Right side buttstock has a sharp clear ordnance wheel cartouche. A very nice Inland M1 Carbine that will make a fine addition to a collection! 

The lightweight, semiautomatic M1 Carbine became one of America’s most recognizable firearms of WWII. Inland Manufacturing—a division of General Motors—was the largest wartime producer, building more than two million carbines for U.S. forces. This excellent example is described as having no import marks and retaining attractive stock cartouches, preserving important clues to its military history.

Twice the Frontier Style: Cased Pair of Pedersoli Kentucky Pistols

This auction is for a cased pair of Pedersoli reproduction Kentucky style .44 percussion blackpowder caliber pistols. Both are in very good condition and mechanically function fine. Locks and hammers have nice case colors. 10 ¼” brass octagonal barrels with very good bores that have strong rifling and some fouling. Stocks have original finish and added carving. Both are complete with ramrods. Set also includes empty primer type, powder scoop, bullet mold, and powder flask. Great set for your collection! 

Inspired by the long-barreled pistols carried during America’s frontier era, these Pedersoli reproduction Kentucky-style pistols feature traditional percussion ignition and .44-caliber barrels. Presented together in a fitted case, the matching pair combines classic early-American styling with the craftsmanship for which Italian manufacturer Davide Pedersoli is known.

From France to the Eastern Front: 1894 Châtellerault Mosin Carbine

Imperial Russia ordered more than 500,000 Model 1891 rifles from France’s Châtellerault arsenal during the 1890s, making French-manufactured Mosins a fascinating and recognizable part of the rifle’s history.

Fine condition Model 1891/38 Mosin Nagant Carbine in 7.62 x 54r caliber. This interesting gun was originally made as a Russian Model 1891 Mosin Nagant rifle and has Chatellerault Arsenal markings on the barrel and dated 1894. Gun was converted to Model 1938 Carbine configuration in Czechoslovakia after WWII and has Czech markings on the receiver and barrel. Still qualifies as an antique, no FFL required to purchase. This interesting gun is also stamped “6K 121” on the receiver ring. I believe this may be a WWI Austrian or German capture marking. Gun is import marked on the receiver and has all matching serial numbers including barrel, bolt, floorplate, stock, and buttplate. Metal finish is Czech arsenal reblue, in excellent condition. Bore is very good and bright with strong rifling. Stock has Czech arsenal refinish and crisp edges with a few normal handling marks. Complete with correct original cleaning rod. A rare and interesting Mosin Nagant that will make an excellent addition to a collection! 

Originally manufactured in 1894 at France’s Châtellerault arsenal, this Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant was reportedly later converted into the compact Czech/Russian Model 1891/38 carbine configuration. Châtellerault produced early Mosin rifles for Imperial Russia while Russian arsenals expanded their own manufacturing capacity. Described as having matching numbers, this antique represents a fascinating journey through European military history.

The Rifle That Won the West: An 1884 Winchester Model 1873

Good condition antique Winchester Model 1873 lever action rifle in .44-40 WCF caliber that is serial number 180xxx, which dates it to production in 1884. Mechanically functions fine. Lever screw is a replacement. Metal is worn the white, with some scattered gray and brown patina. 26” round barrel has original sights. Bore is good with strong rifling and some pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some wear and handling marks. Has an incorrect replacement brass buttplate. Forend cap screws appear to be reproductions. A good example of an Old West era antique Winchester Model 1873.  Manufactured in 1884, this antique Winchester Model 1873 is chambered in the legendary .44-40 WCF cartridge. Nicknamed “The Rifle That Won the West,” the Model 1873 became one of the most recognizable lever-action rifles of the American frontier. Its reliability and ability to share ammunition with popular revolvers made it a practical choice for settlers, ranchers, lawmen, and travelers.

Imperial Germany to Poland: WWI Gewehr 98 with Radom Markings

Good condition WWI Imperial German GEW 98 Mauser Rifle in 8mm Mauser (7.92 x 57) caliber that was manufactured by Oberndorf in 1912, as marked on the receiver ring. Rifle was reissued to Poland after the war and has the Polish eagle and FB Radom Arsenal “triangle” markings on the receiver ring. Barrel also has Polish markings. Rifle is import marked on the barrel and has nonmatching numbers. Metal finish is original blue showing some wear. Bore is dark with worn rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some handling marks and wear. Right side buttstock and undersides of wrist and forend have Weimar era eagle markings. Complete with correct original cleaning rod. A rare Polish marked GEW 98 Mauser Rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection. 

The Gewehr 98 Mauser was Germany’s primary service rifle during World War I. After the war, many examples entered Polish service as the newly independent nation worked to equip its armed forces. This historic rifle displays a Polish eagle and FB Radom markings, connecting its story to both Imperial Germany and Poland’s military-arms industry.

The six-shot cylinder is rotated manually. Original black paint and parkerized metal finishes show some wear. 9” barrel has a good bore. Black plastic stock shows some normal handling marks. Buttstock has been shortened crudely. Front sight bead is absent. A massive and impressive 37mm multi launcher that will make a great addition to a collection! 

The Defense Technologies L8 is a specialized 37mm launcher featuring a distinctive six-shot revolving cylinder. Designed primarily for law-enforcement applications, systems of this type were commonly associated with launching signaling, smoke, or less-lethal munitions. Its unusual revolver-style design makes it an interesting example of modern specialized-equipment development.
