BOLT HEAD CHARGER GUIDE-VOLLEY SIGHTS-EARLY GUN
Very good condition pre WWI British No. I MK I*** SMLE Enfield Rifle in .303 British caliber that was manufactured by Enfield in 1905, as marked on the right side of the receiver socket. Receiver serial number was lined out and replaced with one that has an “CR” prefix, indicating Irish use. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching original serial numbers including barrel and rear sight, as well as all matching Irish serial numbers including receiver, barrel, nosecap, and bolt. Rifle has correct charger guide bolt head and is complete with original volley sights and magazine cutoff. The front volley sight pointer is missing the tip. Metal finish is original blue showing some normal wear. Bore is very good and bright with strong rifling and a little pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal wear and handling marks. Underside of forend has a faint matching serial number. A nice No. I MK I*** SMLE that will make a fine addition to a collection.
