Very good condition original WWI Imperial German 98/05 Mauser butcher sawback bayonet that is double maker marked with Frister & Rossmann on the left ricasso and the J.A. Henckels “twins” trademark on the right ricasso. Spine has a Fraktur letter proof mark. Blade has nice original bright finish with a few spots of gray and brown patina and has been sharpened. Hilt has original bright finish with some gray and brown patina. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fit with some handling marks. Lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has original blue finish showing some wear to brown patina and a few dents. A nice double maker marked 998/05 Mauser butcher sawback bayonet.
