Good condition WWI German GEW 98 Mauser Rifle in 8mm Mauser (7.92 x 57) caliber that was manufactured by Oberndorf in 1918, as marked on the receiver. Rifle is import marked on the receiver and has nonmatching numbers. Rifle shows Turkish use with a crescent marking on the receiver. Metal finish is arsenal reblue showing some wear to plum brown patina. Bore is good, bright with good rifling that shows some normal wear. Stock has been arsenal refinished and shows some wear and handling marks. Complete with cleaning rod. A good example of a classic WWI German GEW 98 Mauser Rifle.
