Very good condition WWII Russian Model 1944 Mosin Nagant Carbine in 7.62 x 54r caliber that has the Tula Arsenal “star” marking on the barrel and dated 1944. Carbine is import marked on barrel and has all matching serial numbers including barrel, bolt, floorplate, and buttplate. Tula manufactured M44 Carbines are hard to find, with only about 75,000 produced compared to over 2 million by Izhevsk. Barrel also has the “triangle 1” marking indicating refurbishment in Irkutsk. Metal finish is Russian arsenal reblue, in excellent condition. Bore is good, mostly bright, with strong rifling and some pitting. Stock has Russian arsenal refinish and shows some handling marks and flaking to the varnish. Complete with correct original cleaning rod. Folding bayonet works fine.
