Very good condition original antique Civil War US Army Second Model Maynard Cavalry Carbine in .50 caliber percussion. Mechanically needs adjustment as the trigger lacks spring tension and so hammer does not catch when cocked. The lower receiver “triggerguard plate” has a crack. Receiver and buttplate have original case colors with some wear to brown patina. 20” barrel has nice original blue finish. Original sights are present. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Left side of wrist has two sharp clear inspector cartouches. Left side buttstock is stamped “R. GUGELMANN”. A good example of a Civil War Maynard Carbine!
