Very good condition original antique Roberts metallic cartridge conversion of a Civil War import British Pattern 1858 Enfield Short Rifle, in .58 centerfire caliber. Lock is marked “1863 TOWER” with the Victorian crown. Left side of breech has nice patent markings. Mechanically functions fine. Metal finish is nice original blue showing a little normal wear. 30 ¾” barrel has original sights and bayonet lug. Bore is gray with average rifling and some pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal wear and handling marks. Left side of stock has a crack by the breech. Complete with correct original cleaning rod. A rare Roberts cartridge conversion Enfield rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection!
