Good condition Japanese Navy Type 35 Arisaka Rifle in 6.5 x 50mm caliber that has a full untouched mum on the receiver and was manufactured by Tokyo Arsenal. This interesting rifle was either captured by the Russians during the Russo-Japanese War or supplied to Russia during WWI as war aid, and made its way into Finnish service (Finland was part of Imperial Russia until 1917). Rifle has a Finn Civil Guard district number “S 107778” in the right side buttstock for Jyvaskyla. Rifle is NOT import marked and has matching assembly numbers on the receiver, stock, trigger, front band, and tangs. Otherwise nonmatching. Rear sight leaf is a Swiss M1889 replacement. Metal finish is original blue showing some wear. Bore is dark with average rifling. Stock has original finish and shows many handling marks, dings, and scratches. Right side of forend has a few chips and a crack. Handguard has a crack behind the rear sight. Complete with an original T-38 cleaning rod. Missing the dustcover and ejector. A rare Finn Civil Guard marked Japanese Navy Type 35 Arisaka Rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection.
