Very good condition French Mle 1949 MAS semi auto rifle in 7.5 x 54mm caliber that is a Syrian contract example with a bayonet. Rifle is import marked on the barrel and has all matching serial numbers except the bolt and bayonet, including receiver, forestock, buttstock, and triggerguard. Metal finish is original gray parkerized showing a little normal wear. Bore is very good and bright with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some handling marks. Right side buttstock has a June 1953 dated roundel cartouche. Left side buttstock and underside of forend have matching serial numbers. Complete with correct original nonmatching numbered spike bayonet that stores in a tube under the barrel. A hard to find Mle 1949 MAS rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection.
