Very good condition original WWII Japanese army late war officer Shin Gunto sword. 26 1/8” blade has original bright finish with some scattered graying. I have not been able to remove the handle to examine the tang markings. Tsuba has a single seppa on both sides and the textbook late “cup seal”. Scabbard latch is present but does not work securely. Wooden tsuka has nice white rayskin covering and is held to the tang with a screw and a single bamboo mekugi. Brown cloth tape wrap is tight. Features a single menuki on both sides, depicting three cherry blossoms. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has nice original paint and no dents. A good example for your collection.
