Very good condition original WWI Imperial German 98/05 Mauser butcher bayonet that has Erfurt Arsenal markings on the right ricasso and dated 1915 on the spine. Blade has original bright finish with a little graying. Hilt has original bright finish with some graying. Wood grips have original finish and show some normal handling marks, lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has plum brown patina and no dents. Also complete with original frog and knot. Leather frog is maker marked and dated 1916. Leather is pliable with some wear, stitching shows some loss. Troddel (knot) has colors for Company 2 of an Infantry Regiment and shows some wear and staining.
