Very good condition WWII German 98k Mauser rifle in 8mm Mauser (7.92 x 57) caliber that is marked “Mod. 98” on the receiver ring with code “bnz45” for manufacture by Steyr in 1945. Rifle is a rare late war Kriegsmodell, made without a bayonet lug or band spring, with bands held by screws, and with a bolt takedown hole in the side of the buttplate rather than a bolt takedown washer. Rifle is NOT import marked and has matching serial numbers on the barrel and rear sight. Bolt does not match but is correct Kriegsmodell. Metal finish is original gray phosphate and blued showing some normal wear. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Complete with correct original cleaning rod. A nice 98k Mauser Kriegsmodell Rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection!
