Good condition antique Portuguese contract Westley Richards “Monkey Tail” percussion breechloading pistol in .451 caliber. Mechanically functions fine and has nice manufacturer markings. One of 1,000 purchased by Portugal. Metal is “in the white” with some graying and light pitting. Bore is good, mostly bright, with strong rifling and some pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Right side of stock has a crack between the lock and breech lever. Both original lanyard rings are present. A hard to find Monkey Tail pistol that will make a fine addition to a collection.
