Very good condition original antique Civil War US Army Gallager breech-loading cavalry carbine in .50 percussion caliber. Mechanically functions fine and has nice markings. Metal finish is original blued and color case hardened showing some normal wear. 22 ¼” barrel has original sights. Bore is very good and bright with strong rifling and a little pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Left side buttstock has scratched “J.E”. A nice example of a classic Civil War Gallager Carbine.
