Good condition original antique US Model 1816 flintlock musket in .69 caliber. Manufactured by L., Pomeroy of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, in 1833, as marked on the lock. This contractor produced 21,600 Model 1816 muskets. Barrel is marked “US/NWP/P” and dated 1833 on the tang. Mechanically functions fine and is still in original flintlock configuration, never converted to percussion. Metal finish is bright with some scattered pitting and has been cleaned. 42” barrel has a good smooth bore with a little pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Left side of stock has an inspector cartouche in the flat opposite the lock. Complete with ramrod. A nice US Model 1816 flintlock musket that will make a fine addition to a collection.
