
GREAT LOOKING GUN-VERY DESIRABLE-SET TRIGGER-RODS
Very good condition original antique Winchester Model 1873 lever action rifle in .44-40 caliber that is a rare and desirable First Model example and is serial number 23xxx, which dates it to manufacture in 1876. Mechanically functions fine and has a factory set trigger. Rifle comes with Cody Museum letter that confirms the configuration and states it was received in the warehouse in 1876 and shipped in 1877. Metal finish is original blue showing some normal wear. 24” octagonal barrel has original sights. Bore is dark gray with good rifling and some pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Complete with correct original cleaning rod set that stores in the butt trap. A rare and desirable Winchester First Model 1873 that will make an excellent addition to a collection.
