Very good condition Swedish Model 96/38 Mauser Short Rifle in 6.5 x 55mm caliber. Originally manufactured as a Model 1896 long rifle by Carl Gustafs in 1898, as marked on the receiver ring, and later arsenal shortened to Model 1938 short rifle configuration but retaining the straight bolt handle. Still qualifies as an antique, no FFL required. Rifle is import marked on the barrel and has all matching serial numbers except the handguard and rear sight. Metal finish is original blue showing some wear to the white. Bore is very good and bright with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some handling marks. Right side buttstock has original brass bore condition marking disc. Complete with correct original cleaning rod. Muzzle is threaded and complete with protector cap. A hard to find antique dated Swede M96/38 Mauser Short Rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection.
