Good condition original antique Spencer repeating sporting rifle in .56-46 rimfire caliber that is a so-called “Frontier” or “Buffalo” model with a 32 ½” heavy octagonal barrel. Mechanically functions fine. Only 1,700 Spencer sporting rifles were produced. The Spencer markings on the receiver were neatly removed. The barrel is marked “LOCK HAVEN PA”. Metal has mostly brown and gray patina. Original sights are present. Bore is good with strong rifling and some pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. A rare Spencer sporting rifle that will make a fine advanced addition to a collection!
