Very good condition WWII German 98k Mauser rifle in 8mm Mauser (7.92 x 57) caliber that is marked “S/42” on the receiver ring for manufacture by Oberndorf and dated 1936. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers. Rifle shows rare and desirable Luftwaffe use with a “Luftamt 4” proof mark on the barrel. Metal finish is nice original blue showing very little wear. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Right side buttstock and undersides of wrist and forend have early Waffenamt cartouches. Underside of buttstock also has a matching serial number. Rifle is complete with correct original leather sling and matching numbered cleaning rod (possibly renumbered). Sling has a tear by one adjustment hole. A nice, rare Luftamt marked 98k Mauser Rifle with matching numbers!
