Excellent condition original Indian Wars US Army Model 1881 cavalry dress helmet. Clean with light wear and no damage. Nice original top cord and horsehair tassel. Eagle badge has “5” unit number. The 5th Cavalry Regiment was very active in the Indian Wars, including the Horsemeat March against the Sioux and the Greely Expedition to the Arctic. Sweatband is soft and supple with no damage and has size 6 7/8 sticker. A beautiful US Army cavalry dress helmet that will make an impressive display!
