Very good condition WWII German style ZFK98K (98k) Mauser Low Turret Sniper Rifle in 8mm Mauser (7.92 x 57) caliber. Rifle is fitted with an original scope, but the rings and mounts appear to be reproductions. Scope has clear optics with a simple crosshair reticle, and original blue finish with a few spots of pitting. Marked “HENSOLDT-WETZLAR DIALYTAN 4x 7430”. Rifle is NOT import marked and has matching serial numbers on the receiver, triggerguard, floorplate, and follower. Otherwise nonmatching. Bolt has a “key” style safety, uncertain of its originality. Metal finish is original blue showing some normal wear. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock was Yugoslavian arsenal refinished and shows some normal handling marks. Wrist has a repaired crack through both sides. Handguard has a crack. Left side buttstock has a Yugo-added nonmatching serial number. Complete with correct original cleaning rod and front sight hood. A nice looking WWII German type 98k Mauser sniper rifle, will make a good display or for use by a reenactor.
